Police confiscated 5 ton illegal peas from a truck at Yasodhara Rural Municipality-7 along the Nepal-India border on Monday night.
A police team deployed from the Maryadpur Police Post seized the peas from the truck (UP 55 T 2295) heading towards Itawat of India from Nepal.
DSP Dharma Raj Bhandari said that they confiscated the peas worth around Rs 500,000.
Police said that they have apprehended the truck driver Dhan Prakash Agrahari (27) of Gram Itawat, Suddharthanagar district of India for investigation.
Police have send the truck driver and seized peas to the Suthaula Customs Office.
