Azerbaijan and Armenia sign historic peace deal at White House

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a landmark peace agreement hosted by US President Donald Trump, aiming to end decades of conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. The deal includes reopening key transport routes and establishing diplomatic and economic ties, according to BBC.

The US will help build a transit corridor, the “Trump Route,” linking Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenia—resolving a major sticking point. This summit also marks a shift in regional influence from Russia to the US, with Trump preparing for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week.
