North Korea says its nuclear weapons state is irreversible

North Korea has announced that its position as a nuclear weapons state is “irreversible,” saying it is now enshrined in the country’s highest law, Reuters reported.

In a statement through its UN mission, Pyongyang dismissed US calls for denuclearization as outdated and an intrusion into its sovereignty. It argued that its nuclear arsenal is essential for national security and a direct response to perceived American threats.
