Ukraine targets key Russian oil refinery as Moscow tests hypersonic missile

Russia and Ukraine continued heavy aerial clashes, targeting energy and transport infrastructure as Moscow presses its eastern offensive. Russia said its air defenses shot down 361 drones, four guided bombs, and HIMARS rockets, while Ukraine reported downing a ballistic missile and 164 drones, Al Jazeera reported.

Ukrainian drones hit the Kirishi oil refinery in Leningrad, causing fire but limited damage, officials said. Rail incidents in Leningrad and Oryol killed four, though Bashkortostan oil production remained unaffected. Ukraine may limit 4G and 5G in areas to disrupt Russian drones. Russia also fired a Zircon hypersonic missile in joint exercises with Belarus.
