Former President Yadav appeals all to focus on election

Former President Ram Baran Yadav has called on all citizens to exercise restraint during the current challenging period in the country and to move forward while upholding national unity.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day and National Day 2082 BS today, Yadav, who also holds the distinction of being the first President of democratic Nepal, viewed that any wrongdoing within a democratic system should be addressed in accordance with the law.

Describing Constitution Day as a historic occasion, Yadav underlined the need for focusing on the upcoming election.

If amendments to the Constitution are necessary, he said, they should be proceeded with through the parliament to be formed after receiving a fresh electoral mandate.

“In a democracy, the rights of citizens lie within themselves. Citizens are the true masters of the nation,” he stated.
