Light rain forecast in some areas of hilly and mountainous region

Light rain is forecast in some areas in the hilly and mountainous region of the country today, as the influence of the Westerly wind still exists in Nepal at present, said the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The hilly areas of the country will experience partly cloudy weather. 

Similarly, in most places, the weather will mainly be fair. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.

The precipitation caused by the 'Montha Cyclone' that developed in the Bay of Bengal affected daily life for a few days. In the Himalayan region, there was snowfall along with the rain.

Thirteen tourists, both domestic and foreign, were stranded at the base camp of Tilicho Lake in Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9, Manang due to heavy snowfall. They were rescued by a team from the Armed Police Force's Mountain Rescue Training Center, Manang.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) said that rainfall was recorded in 301 rainfall measurement stations throughout the country from the morning of November 1 till the morning of November 2. 

Significant rainfall has been recorded in 185 of the 301 rainfall measurement stations, it is stated.

The highest rainfall was recorded in Besisahar of Lamjung, with 71.1 millimetres of rain. 

Among the centers where rainfall was measured, four centers recorded more than 50 millimetres of rain during that period.
