Change of guard in ANNFSU

The resignation of All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) President Sujan Kadariya has been officially accepted.

A meeting of the office bearers held today endorsed the resignation submitted by Kadariya. Following the decision, newly appointed President Deepak Dhami and other members of the leadership team received congratulations and best wishes from Kadariya.

With his resignation approved, General Secretary Deepak Dhami has been elevated to president, while Vice-president Anjana Shivakoti has been assigned the role of general secretary.

Kadariya had announced his resignation on social media, expressing dissatisfaction after students were killed during the GenZ protest.

In his statement, Kadariya said his “bitter and sweet moments in the student movement have formally come to an end.”

He thanked the ANNFSU leadership for accepting his resignation and expressed gratitude to all seniors and comrades who guided and inspired him.

He also apologized for any mistakes or harsh behavior “committed knowingly or unknowingly” during his tenure.

Kadariya said he is now fully dedicating himself to party work, pledging to serve as a “loyal soldier of the CPN-UML.” “No ending is truly an end—it is merely the beginning of a new journey,” he said.
