Police seize 51 kg of marijuana from ambulance in Sarlahi

Police seized 51 kilograms of marijuana from an ambulance in Sarlahi on Sunday. 

The District Police Office, Sarlahi, stated that the police confiscated the marijuana from Ghurkauli in Hiralal Tole of Hariwan Municipality-5 in the district.

A team of police personnel deployed from Hariwan Area Police Office seized the marijuana and impounded the vehicle (Ja 1 Cha 1558) acting on a tip-off. 

It is said that the ambulance belongs to Ramnagar Bahuarba branch of Nepal Red Cross Society.

Police also held Surendra Raya Yadav (37), the driver of the ambulance of Yamunamai Rural Municipality-4 in Rautahat district.

Meanwhile, the police held Ganga Bahadur Waiba (25) of Narayankhola in Lalbandi Municipality-14 for smuggling 52 kilograms of marijuana. 

Waiba was nabbed from Hirapur area of the same municipality, police said.
