Dharan Sub-metropolitan City former Mayor Harka Raj Rai (Harka Sampang) registered his candidacy from Sunsari constituency 1 for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.

He filed his candidacy on behalf of the Shram Sanskriti Party.

After resigning from the post of mayor, Sampang formally entered parliamentary politics and filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives elections.

Along with Sampang, other candidates have also filed nominations from Sunsari-1.
