A Learjet 45 aircraft carrying Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of India’s Maharashtra state, crashed while attempting to land at Baramati airport on the morning of  28 Jan 2026. The country’s aviation regulator confirmed that Pawar and four others on board, including two crew members and two of his staff were killed in the accident, and there were no survivors.
