A group of unidentified persons detonated a cylinder bomb in Tulsipur, Dang.
According to police, the blast occurred at Patukhola along the border ofTulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City 6 and 8.
Cylinder fragments were found from the site.
Binoda Raj Khatri, spokesperson at the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, said security personnel were promptly deployed to the scene following the explosion.
Locals have been terrified after the explosion.
Police suspect that the blast may have been intended to spread fear among the public in the run-up to the elections.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bohara said that an investigation is underway to identify those responsible.
No casualties have been reported yet.
