NC's Gurung wins from Manang

Nepali Congress candidate Tek Bahadur Gurung from Manang district has won in the House of Representatives election held on Thursday. Gurung collected 2,415 votes to emerge victorious.

Chief election officer in the district Ram Prasad Paudel informed that Gurung, who had been leading the vote count from the very beginning, was announced victorious. 

His nearest rival from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Yashoda Subedi Gurung, collected 454 votes. Similarly, Ram Bahadur Gurung (Nawin) of the Mangal National Organization got 9 votes.

Manang, having a single constituency, recorded 54.80 percent voter turnout. There were a total 7,000 voters listed for the election. 

District election officer Jivan Kunwar said the number of invalid votes was 45.
