The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidates have won the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Kathmandu electoral constituency 5 and 9.
Sasmit Pokharel has been elected as the member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu- 5.
According to the final results of the HoR Member elections held on Thursday, Pokharel has won by securing 30,737 votes. The newly elected MP Pokharel's closest competitor from the Nepali Congress, Pradeep Paudel, received 9,159 votes.
According to the Election Commission's office, Ishwar Pokharel of the CPN-UML has received 4,701 votes in the election.
Kamal Thapa of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has received 1,729 votes, Shriram Gurung of the Ujyalo Nepal Party has received 1,100 votes, and Amit Thapa of the Shram Sanskriti Party has received 711 votes.
A total of 25 candidates, including various political parties and independents, were in the fray in this constituency.
Newly elected MP Pokharel said after being declared the winner that they are extremely grateful for the trust shown by the voters and stated that this result is not a personal victory but a great responsibility towards the citizens of the constituency.
Similarly, RSP Vice Chairman Dol Prasad Aryal has won the HoR election from Kathmandu- 9 by securing 35,093 votes.
His closest competitor, Nanumaya Bastola of the Nepali Congress, has received 5,460 votes.
According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Ajaya Kranti Shakya of the CPN-UML received 4,580 votes, Dilkumar Karki of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 1,457 votes, and Radha Krishna Maharjan of the Nepali Communist Party received 1,328 votes.
According to the final results of the Thursday-concluded HoR member election, 24 candidates, including various political parties and independents, were competing in that electoral area.
