Dolpa faces election complaints

A complaint has been filed in Dolpa district demanding cancellation of the election. Ballot papers with half-cuts were reportedly found during counting in Wards 4 and 5 of Kaike Rural Municipality.

The complaint was jointly filed by CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, and independent candidates. They accused election staff of serious misconduct and warned they may seek legal action in the High Court if ignored.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Chandradev Bharti, said such half-cut ballots are handled according to official procedures. The dispute will be addressed through an all-party meeting, following the Election Commission’s guidelines for House of Representatives elections.
