Gobinda Panthi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won the House of Representatives (HoR)  election from Gulmi 2 by a whisker.  

According to Harihar Poudel, Election Officer, Panthi was elected with 16,967 votes against his closest competitor Gokarna Bista of the CPN (UML) by a slim margin of 561 votes.  Bista obtained 16,406 votes.

Likewise, Nepali Congress's candidate Bhuwan Prasad Shrestha secured third position with 14,434 votes.
