RSP's Chaudhary secures HoR seat from Rautahat-1

Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected from Rautahat 1 in the House of Representatives member election. 

Manoj KC, Election Officer, said Chaudhary secured his victory with 28,946 votes in the vote count that concluded today. He defeated his nearest contender Ajay Kumar Gupta of the CPN-UML, who got 10,693 votes. 

Nepali Congress's Anil Jha finished third with 8,574 votes. 

Another prominent contender from the constituency, former Prime Minister and Nepali Communist Party's senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal obtained 7,669 votes.  

The constituency has a total of 108,726 registered voters. Out of them, altogether 71,156 cast their votes in the March 5's election. 

Meanwhile, vote counting for the constituency no 2, 3 and 4 in the district is still underway.
