Independent lawmaker Mahabir Pun has emphasized the need to make universities free from politics. 

He pointed out the necessity of keeping the 18 currently operating universities away from political influence and focusing on improving educational quality.

Pun stated that priority should be given to promoting science and technology in Nepal and creating employment for the youth within the country.

He highlighted the need for changes in the education regulations to address various distortions seen in school education and expressed concern over the increasing political influence in school management committees.

Likewise, lawmaker Pun emphasised on the need to end political interference in the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
