Newly elected Deputy Speaker Rubi Kumari Thakur assumed office at Singha Durbar on Monday.

Following her oath, Thakur paid a courtesy call on Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal.

Thakur was elected Deputy Speaker on April 10, defeating Saraswati Lama of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Representing the Shram Sanskriti Party, she secured the position with support from the RPP.
