PVCDC issues 15-day notice to clear Pokhara Bus Park encroachments

The PVCDC has released a public notice directing the removal of all structures including shops, located in the Pokhara Bus Park area within a 15-day timeframe.

The committee has urged business owners to assist in the construction of the Pokhara Bus Park by dismantling the structures, including shops, which have been constructed in the Seti River area, extending from Pokhara House to Seti Bridge, and from Prithvi Highway to the South, as well as from the Airport to the North and East.

The notice, issued on Saturday, indicates that if the structures are not removed within the specified period, the committee will take action to remove them and will recover any associated costs from the responsible individuals and organizations.

Additionally, the committee has instructed landowners in the bus park area to present a citizenship certificate, a copy of the land ownership certificate, a receipt for land revenue payment, and other relevant documents to the committee's office within seven days.

On April 17, the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality - 9 had also issued a public notice for the removal of structures that encroach upon the bus park land in Prithvichok.

Following the conclusion of the 35-day notice period on Saturday, the PVCDC has issued a subsequent notice.

The land designated for the bus park, which is owned by the PVCDC, is currently occupied by landless residents, landless Dalits, and landless squatters.

Approximately 205 ropani of land was acquired around the year 2031/32 BS for the purpose of constructing a bus park, but the project remains stalled.

Currently, the land intended for the bus park is facing encroachment, with only about 60 ropani of the area remaining available.

The Metropolitan City intends to proceed with the construction of the bus park by clearing the encroached land designated for the proposed modern Pokhara Bus Park.
