Vehicular movements along different highways in the country have been affected following the monsoon-induced disasters from early morning today.
According to Nepal Police, vehicular movements have been obstructed in various parts of the country after landslides, soil erosion and debris triggered by torrential rainfall.
The Nepal Police stated that the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi section of the BP Highway has been closed for all vehicles from Thursday evening to this morning in view of possible flood risks.
Likewise, the Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality-9 has been completely obstructed as the road there remains muddy following the rain.
The Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section at Panini Rural Municipality-2 in Arghakhanchi district has also been fully obstructed following the landslide.
The police said that a landslide at Jirokilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk district obstructed vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway.
According to Nepal Police, vehicular movement has resumed along the Kanti Highway from this morning after clearing debris at Ghattepakha area in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11 in Makawanpur district.
