Monsoon-induced disasters completely disrupt five major highways

The country's five major transport routes have been completely disrupted by monsoon-triggered disasters including floods and landslides.

The Department has intensified restoration efforts, deploying dozers and excavators.

The public has been urged to use alternative routes until the suspended routes are restored.

Similarly, the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi section of the BP Highway is to remain open only from 4 am to 6 pm.

The Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Bagmati-Lalitpur road section of the Kanti Highway is to be closed during the night.

Similarly, the Araniko Highway has been blocked following landslides at Charkilo (on the road to Tatopani) and Kodari in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 of Sindhupalchowk district, according to the police.
