A landless squatter staying at the holding center in Bode-based Agriculture Development Bank in Bhaktapur committed suicide on Thursday. 

Hiralal Paswan (57) of Suvarna Rural Municipality-2, Bara reportedly killed himself in room no. 207 of the holding center at around 11 am today.

A team of Chief District Office Binod Kumar Khadka reached the site after the incident.

Paswan had been staying at the holding center with his wife, son and daughter-in-law.

Following the incident, other squatters staying at the holding center said that the incident occurred after the government failed to resettle them properly, commenting that the government must take the responsibility.
