RSP's Gyawali elected from Kailali-1

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Komal Gyawali has been elected from Kailali-1.

The District Election Officer's Office has stated that she received 17,826 votes. 

Her nearest competitor was Janakraj Chaudhary of Nepali Congress, who received 12,867 votes. Likewise, Ramlal Dagora Tharu of Nepali Communist Party received 8,392 votes.

 

HoR elections: RSP leading in votes tally under PR electoral system

In the ongoing vote count under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives elections, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading in the number of votes secured.

A total of 67, 788 votes have been counted as of 10 this morning, and the RSP has secured 38,311 votes, according to the Election Commission.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress received 11,456 votes, the CPN-UML  6,047, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 2,818, the Nepali Communist Party 2,424, the Shram Sanskriti Party 1,476, the Rastriya Parivartan Party 871, the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 258, the Nepal Janata Sanrakshan Party 139, and the Pragatisheel Lokatantrik Party 1,236 votes under the PR system.

The counting of the PR votes is underway. 

Parties are competing for 110 seats in the proportional category.

 

 

 

 

 

 

UML candidate Mahar wins HoR election in Bajhang

CPN-UML candidate Ain Bahadur Mahar has won the House of Representatives (HoR) election in Bajhang. Mahar defeated the Nepali Congress candidate Prakash Rasaili Snehi by a margin of 2,239 votes.

Out of a total of 57,994 votes cast in the elections held on Thursday, Mahar received 18,543 votes, while his closest rival Rasaili received 16,304 votes.

Similarly, Shailesh Kumar Singh, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, received 9,263 votes, whereas Min Bahadur Kunwar, the candidate of the Nepali Communist Party, received 9,757 votes, said Chief Election Officer Suwarna Man Banepali.

Similarly, the chief election officer Banepali stated that the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) candidate Bharat Mall received 504 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Bishwo Prakash Jethara 405, and the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party candidate Dal Bahadur Bohara 41 votes.

 

RSP’s Bhusal wins HoR election in Parbat

The counting of votes under the first-past-the-post (direct) electoral system under the House of Representatives (HoR) election has been completed in Parbat district.

According to the final vote count results concluded this morning, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)'s candidate Sagar Bhusal has won the election in the district with 26,561 votes. 

His closest contender, Nepali Congress's candidate Arjun Prasad Joshi, received 15,954 votes while the CPN-UML candidate Padam Giri received 15,075 votes, the District Election Office stated. 

Seventeen candidates, including four independents, from 13 political parties were in the electoral fray In Parbat.

HoR elections: RSP wins in 27 constituencies, leading vote tally in 90

In the ongoing vote counting for the House of Representatives election, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has so far won in 27 areas.

According to the election results up to 10:15 in the morning, the candidates from RSP are leading in 90 electoral constituencies, the Election Commission has stated.

According to the EC, the RSP candidates who have been declared as the winners are Santosh Rajbanshi in Morang-4, Rubina Acharya in Morang-6, Manish Jha in Dhanusha-3, Pramod Kumar Mahato in Mahottari-1, Arvinda Saha in Bara-3, Buddhiprasad Pant in Parsa-1, Ranju Neupane in Kathmandu-1, Sunil KC in Kathmandu-2, Rajunath Pandey in Kathmandu-3, Pukar Bam in Kathmandu-4, Sasmit Pokhrel in Kathmandu-5, Shishir Khanal in Kathmandu-6, Ganesh Parajuli in Kathmandu-7, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha in Kathmandu-8, Dol Prasad Aryal in Kathmandu-9, Pradeep Bista in Kathmandu-10 and Rukesh Ranjit in Bhaktapur-1 have already been elected.

Similarly, the Election Commission has reported that RSP candidates Rabi Lamichhane has won in Chitwan Constituency No. 2, Uttam Prasad Paudel in Kaski Constituency No. 2, Beena Gurung in Kaski 3, Dhananjay Regmi in Syangja 1, Sagar Bhusal in Parbat 1, Sulabh Kharel in Rupandehi 2, Dr. Lekhjang Thapa in Rupandehi 3, Kanhaiya Baniya in Rupandehi 4, Suresh Kumar Chaudhary in Banke Constituency No. 1, Khagendra Sunar in Banke 3, and Komal Gyawali in Kailali 1.

According to the EC, results have been announced for 34 constituencies so far. Out of a total of 165 constituencies in the first-past-the-post (direct) election system, vote counting is currently underway in 161 constituencies.

The Nepali Congress has won in four constituencies. The winning NC candidates are Santosh Subba in Tehrathum 1, Tek Bahadur Gurung in Manang 1, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali in Mustang 1 and Basana Thapa in Dailekh 1.

In the ongoing vote count, the Nepali Congress candidates are leading in 10 constituencies.

From the Nepali Communist Party, the party's coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has already won from Rukum East 1. The NCP candidates are leading in 11 constituencies in the ongoing vote count.

UML candidate Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai has won from Banke 1. UML candidates are leading in 10 electoral constituencies so far.

Independent candidate Mahabir Pun has won the election from Myagdi 1. 

He was supported by the RSP. Candidates from the Shram Sanskriti Party are leading in five places and candidates from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) are leading in one constituency.

 

RSP’s Rukesh Ranjit wins HoR seat in Bhaktapur-1

Rukesh Ranjit of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Bhaktapur-1, defeating Nepal Workers and Peasants Party secretary Prem Suwal by 5,289 votes.

Chief Election Officer Navaraj Dahal said that Ranjit won the election, securing 33,436 votes while Suwal collected 28,147 votes.

Similarly, Kiran Neupane of the Nepali Congress received 4,282 votes and Som Mishra of the UML got 3,721 votes.

 

 

Saudi and Pakistani defense officials meet

Saudi Arabia’s defense minister and Pakistan’s army chief met on Saturday to discuss ways to stop attacks coming from Iran. The meeting focused on regional security and rising tensions in the Middle East, AP reported.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the discussion was held under the Joint Strategic Defense Agreement between the two countries. 

Both sides talked about cooperation to prevent attacks that could threaten regional stability.

Pakistan has not yet released an official statement about the meeting. However, the two countries signed a mutual defense pact in September, which states that an attack on one nation would be treated as an attack on both.

Drone attacks target Saudi oilfield

Early Saturday, drone attacks targeted areas near Riyadh and the Shaybah oil field in Saudi Arabia, reported AP.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense said it intercepted all incoming drones. The attack focused on the Shaybah oil field, operated by Saudi Aramco, which produces about 1m barrels of oil per day.

Recent attacks linked to Iran have increasingly targeted Gulf oil infrastructure and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a route carrying around 20 percent of global oil and gas trade, according to AP.
