Five years after COVID-19 restrictions prevented Liverpool fans from celebrating at Anfield their team's first top flight title triumph in 30 years, Reds faithful wasted little time on Sunday getting the party started on another Premier League success, Reuters reported.
With Anfield filled to the brim, Liverpool equalled Manchester United's record of 20 English top-flight titles with their 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur.
But it was after Alexis Mac Allister struck a blistering shot to put the Reds ahead for good in the 24th minute that the delirious crowd at the sun-drenched stadium erupted and they did not stop singing until well after the final whistle sounded.
"To win the Premier League here with the fans is special, it's an incredible feeling," said Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah. "This is way better than five years ago, without a shadow of a doubt. To do it again after five years is something special," according to Reuters.
Rampant Arsenal hammer Lyon to reach women's Champions League final
Arsenal overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit with a 4-1 away thrashing of French side Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday to win 5-3 on aggregate and book their spot in the women's Champions League final, where they will meet holders Barcelona, Reuters reported.
The Gunners were ruthless, punishing errors from the eight-time Champions League winners and turning them into goals to reach the final for the first time since they won the competition in 2007, the only English club to do so.
The game got off to a bad start for the home side when Lyon goalkeeper Christiane Endler was credited with an own goal after mis-judging a corner five minutes in, an attempted clearance hitting her on the back before bouncing into the net.

Ten-man Juventus beat Monza 2-0 to move up to fourth
Juventus edged a step closer to a top-four finish with a 2-0 home win against Monza in Serie A on Sunday as Nicolas Gonzalez and Randal Kolo Muani scored first-half goals before Kenan Yildiz was sent off for the hosts before halftime, Reuters reported.
Gonzalez gave Juve the lead after 11 minutes with a terrific shot from distance and Kolo Muani scored inside the far post with a simple low strike from the edge of the box in the 33rd.
Juventus were reduced to 10 men when Yildiz lost his cool and was handed a straight red for violent conduct after elbowing Monza midfielder Alessandro Bianco in first-half stoppage time.
Juve moved provisionally up to fourth on 62 points, two points above fifth-placed Bologna who visit Udinese on Monday, according to Reuters.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work being observed today
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is being observed throughout the globe including in Nepal today.
The theme of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025 is – 'Revolutionizing health and safety: the role of AI and digitalization at work.'
This Day has been marked at the call of the International Labour Organization (ILO) since 2003 to emphasize the prevention of accidents and diseases in the workplace. This campaign is a part of the ILO's international strategy to ensure occupational safety and health.
One of the main pillars of the Global Strategy is advocacy and the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is a significant tool to raise awareness of how to make work safe and healthy and of the need to raise the political profile of occupational safety and health, the ILO said.
April 28 is also the International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers organized worldwide by the trade union movement since 1996.
Occupational Safety and Health Day is used as an important tool to spread awareness about how to ensure workplace safety and health and to bring political priority to this topic.
This year's theme is relevant as in today's digital age, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools are changing the very definition of health and safety in the workplace. Robots are being used which are carrying out hazardous tasks such as heavy work, handling poisonous materials, and working in extreme temperatures.
Digital devices and sensors have the ability to detect threats, which has significantly improved security. However, it is important to adopt proper regulation and protective measures.
Light rain and snowfall likely in some places today
The Westerly and local wind coupled with the moisture-laden wind entering from the Bay of Bengal have their influence in the weather system of the country at present, the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.

Three killed, two injured in Palpa jeep accident
Three persons died and two others were injured in a jeep accident at Siddheshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-1 in Palpa district last night.
The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2377) was heading towards Thulapokhara from Asare of Siddheshwar when the accident occurred, said Sunil Malla, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Palpa.
Following the incident, five of the injured were rushed to the United Mission Hospital in Tansen and doctors declared three of them as dead, police said.
The deceased have been identified as 36-year-old Dipendra Budha, 31-year-old Chet Narayan BK, and 23-year-old Janak Regami of Siddheshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara-1.
The injured jeep driver, Ranjan Reshmi (27) and another injured Saroj Budha 23) are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to the police, the jeep fell some 200 meters down the road. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
More than 400 individuals take permits to climb Mt Everest
Four hundred and two people from 53 countries have taken permits as of April 27 to climb Mt Everest, the world's tallest peak, in this spring climbing season this year, the Department of Tourism said. Seventy-four among them are women.
Department Director Liladhar Awasthi said that 41 expeditions have taken permission.
In the same season last year, a total of 414 people, including 75 women and 339 men from 41 mountaineering expeditions, had taken permission to climb Mt Everest.
Royalty of Rs 684 million has been collected from the permits issued for climbing various mountain peaks this year.
The Department stated that the royalty amount is expected to increase further as climbers continue to arrive.
The Department has set up a field office at the Everest Base Camp to ensure safe, orderly mountain climbing and to regulate the mountaineering activities in the Mt Everest. It is stated that during the 72 years of climbing Mt Everest, many new records have been set as a growing number of mountaineers jostle to stand tall on the top of the Everest.
Even though climbing Mt Everest is fraught with risk and challenging, an increasing number of climbers are still aspiring for ascending the tallest mountain on Earth.
One of them is Solukhumbu's Tashi Gyaljen Sherpa who has set out to climb Mt Everest four times in 20 days this season with the aim of setting a new record.
So far, more than 8,000 domestic and foreign climbers have reached atop the highest peak in the history of Everest climbing and the trend of setting new record continues.
Nepal exports tea worth Rs 3.57 billion in last nine months
Tea worth Rs 3.57 billion has been exported till April 13 of the current fiscal year 2024/25, starting July 16, 2024.
Tea exports are expected to reach Rs 4.5 billion this year, according to the National Tea and Coffee Development Board.
Board official Chandra Puri said Nepal's tea sector has created around 60,000 jobs and there are 171 tea estates and 120 small and medium tea processing centres.
According to him, tea was grown on a total of 20,760 hectares of land across the country in the fiscal year 2023/24. During this period, 27 million kilograms of processed tea was produced. There are 15,203 tea farmers in the country.
Puri informed that 16.5 million kilograms of tea worth Rs 3.63 billion was exported in the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the Board has decided to organize a tea exhibition at Harihar Bhawan in Pulchowk today on the occasion of the 29th National Tea Day. The exhibition has been organized with the objective of promoting Nepali tea in the international market.
Puri said that discussions would be held among the representatives of tea farmers, workers, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, business persons and concerned organizations amidst the exhibition of tea produced in different districts of the country at one place.
The theme of the National Tea Day this year is 'Healthy Tea, Sustainable Market, Foundation of Prosperous Nepal'.
