Milan sign midfielder Rabiot from Marseille
AC Milan have signed French midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Olympique de Marseille, the Serie A club said on Monday, two weeks after the player was put on the transfer list following a dressing room altercation with a teammate, Reuters reported.
Italian media reported that the 30-year-old has penned a three-year deal with Milan, who have paid a reported 10 million euros ($11.71 million) for the 30-year-old.
Rabiot was put up for sale by the French club along with English winger Jonathan Rowe due to "unacceptable behaviour" after Marseille's Ligue 1 loss at Stade Rennais, according to Reuters.
Arsenal bring in Hincapie on loan from Leverkusen
Arsenal have signed Ecuador defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan, the Premier League club said on Monday, Reuters reported.
Since arriving at Leverkusen in 2021, the 23-year-old has racked up over 100 appearances and was instrumental in their 2024 Bundesliga title triumph.
British media reported that Arsenal have a 45 million pounds ($60.79 million) agreement in place to buy Hincapie if they decide to make his move permanent next summer, according to Reuters.
Aston Villa swoop to sign midfielders Sancho and Elliott on loan
Aston Villa signed midfielders Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott on loan from Manchester United and Liverpool respectively on Monday as the Midlands club bolstered their squad after a disappointing start to the Premier League season, Reuters reported.
Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but spent a spell back on loan at the Bundesliga club before being loaned out to Chelsea last season.
"Sancho has been playing at the highest level of the club game since he was a teenager, particularly impressing for Borussia Dortmund during his time in the Bundesliga," Villa said on their website, according to Reuters.
Premier League clubs spend record 3 billion pounds in summer frenzy
Alexander Isak's British record 125 million pounds ($169 million) move from Newcastle United to Liverpool on Monday completed an eye-watering summer of English Premier League spending, Reuters reported.
The Swedish striker's move, along with several other big-money deadline day deals such as Newcastle's 55 million pounds swoop for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa meant the cumulative spend for the world's richest soccer league during the transfer window reached three billion pounds for the first time.
Gross spending for the Premier League this season is already the highest ever, exceeding the 2.7 billion pounds spent in the 2022-23 season, and the January window is still to come.
The 20 clubs have spent 650 million pounds more in this window than the previous highest summer spend in 2023, according to Reuters.
