President administers oath of office to Chief Justice

President Ram Chandra Paudel has administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut amidst a ceremony organized at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas today.

Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, the Deputy Prime Ministers, the Deputy Speaker, Ministers, the Supreme Court justices, heads of constitutional bodies, chiefs of the security agencies and other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.

President Paudel had appointed Raut as the Chief Justice this morning.

 

Newly appointed Karnali Province ministers take oath office and secrecy

Four newly appointed ministers of Karnali Province government have taken the oath of office and secrecy today.

Karnali Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi administered the oath of office and secretary to Rajiv Bikram Shah (Jajarkot), Ghanshyam Bhandari (Dailekh), Suresh Adhikari (Salyan) and Bijaya Budha (Humla).

Shah has been appointed as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Bhandari as Minister for Social Development, Adhikari as Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and Budha as Minister for Water Resources and Energy Development.  

 

PM Oli takes oath of office and secrecy

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli took the oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to PM Oli amidst a special ceremony organized at Sheetal Niwas this afternoon.

President Paudel appointed CPN-UML Chairman Oli as the prime minister as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

With this Oli has become the prime minister of Nepal for the fourth time.

He became the prime minister for the first time on October 11, 2015.

Later, he was appointed as the prime minister for the second time on February 15, 2018 and third time on May 13, 2021.

Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, Chief Justice Bishwombar Prasad Shrestha, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, outgoing prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, Jhalanath Khanal, Baburam Bhattarai, lawmakers, representatives of diplomatic missions and chiefs of security agencies among others were present on the occasion.

Lawmaker Suhang Nembang takes of office and secrecy

CPN-UML candidate Suhang Nembang, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Ilam-2, took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nembang amidst a function organized at the hall of Agriculture Committee in Singha Durbar this afternoon.

Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Padam Giri, Defense Minister Hari Prasad Uprety, chief whips of various political parties and Parliament Secretariat General Secretary Padam Prasad Pandey among others were present on the occasion.

Nembang defeated Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Khadka by a margin of 5, 830 votes in the by-election held on April 27.

Nembang mustered 27, 772 votes while his closest contender Khadka garnered 21, 942 votes.

The by-election was held in Ilam-2 after the demise of Subash Nembang, father of Suhang Nembang.

Newly elected National Assembly members take oath of office and secrecy

Newly elected National Assembly members took oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Urmila Aryal administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected members amidst a function at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor.

Out of 20 vacant posts, 19 were elected through the election. One will be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Cabinet.

After the election held to appoint the 19 members, CPN (Maoist Center) became the first party, Nepali Congress second and CPN-UML became the third party in the National Assembly.

Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Bishnu Kumari Pudasaini, Jit Jung Basnet, Padam Kumar Pariyar, Kiran Babu Shrestha, Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, Baldev Bohara and Narayan Dutta Bhatta were elected as the National Assembly members from the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, Shree Krishna Adhikari, Manarupa Sharma, Jhakku Subedi, Bishnu Bahadur Bishwokarma and Renu Chand were elected as the NA members from the CPN (Maoist Center).

Likewise, Ghanshyam Rijal and Sabitri Malla from the CPN (Unified Socialist), Rukmuni Koirala from the CPN-UML and Pooja Chaudhary Janata Samajbadi Party were also elected as the NA members.
