Government change is merely a rumor; work with confidence: PM
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there was no truth in the rumor of change in government formed on the partnership between two big political parties.
Inaugurating the administrative building of Ichhakamana Rural Municipality of Chitwan today, PM Oli urged the local level leadership to focus on rapid development works keeping good governance.
He said that the government was clear on its goals and destinations as the big parties with glorious history formed the incumbent government together to give stability, development and good governance to the country.
"We are carefully engaged in delivering good governance, and making Nepal prosperous and Nepalis happy. You should also join this campaign with confidence. Let's all build the country together", the PM added.
He expressed the belief that the new administrative building would ease service delivery and good governance of the rural municipality.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Bagmati Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota and others were present on the occasion.
21 injured as bus carrying Indian tourists meets with accident in Dang
At least 21 persons were injured when a bus carrying Indian tourists met with an accident in Dang on Friday.
Police said that the bus (UP 32 MN 9666) was heading towards Pokhara from Lucknow when the incident occurred at Chisapani along the Gadhawa-Koilabas road section this afternoon.
The injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.
Police informed that further details about the incident are awaited.
Tottenham edge Eintracht 1-0 to book Europa League semi-final place
Tottenham snatched an aggregate 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt to reach the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday after Dominic Solanke converted from the spot to secure a 1-0 win in the second leg of their quarter-final, Reuters reported.
The Premier League side will face Norway's Bodo/Glimt in May for a spot in the final.
Solanke gave Tottenham the lead from the spot two minutes before halftime after the visitors were awarded a penalty for a foul by goalkeeper Kaua Santos on Spurs midfielder James Maddison, according to Reuters.
Bilbao beat Rangers 2-0 to reach Europa League last four
Athletic Bilbao advanced to the Europa League semi-finals with a 2-0 home win over Rangers in their quarter-final second leg on Thursday, winning by the same score on aggregate to keep alive their dream of reaching the final at their San Mames stadium, Reuters reported.
After the sides drew 0-0 at Ibrox in the first leg, there was a fast, intense start to the return game, with Rangers looking unintimidated by the raucous atmosphere at the San Mames, where a record crowd of 52,114 was in attendance.

Harry Maguire scored in the dying seconds of extra time to help Manchester United snatch a place in the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday with a sensational 7-6 aggregate victory over Olympique Lyonnais in their quarter-final clash, Reuters reported.

Fire engulfs property worth Rs 6 million in Sunsari
Property worth around Rs 6 million was destroyed in a fire at Koshi Rural Municipality-6 in Sunsari on Thursday.
The fire made to drive away mosquitoes spread to 10 houses in the neighborhood, turning them into ashes, according to a local Birendra Kumar Yadav. He said that property worth around Rs was destroyed in the fire.
The houses of Babu Nand Goit, Ramanand Ram Yadav, Manoj Yadav, Khushi Lal Goit, and Bijay Goit among others were destroyed in the fire.
The fire was later brought under control with the help of a fire engine backed by Nepal Police and Armed Police personnel and locals.
2 killed, 14 injured in Makwanpur bus accident
Two persons died and 14 others were injured in a bus accident at Dharampani in Makwanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2, Makwanpur on Friday.
The incident occurred when the ill-fated bus (Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 7072) en route to Hetauda from Kathmandu fell some 200 metres down the road at 1 am today, according to the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
The deceased have been identified as Nilam Devi Raut (50) and Manushi Magar (13). Raut, who was seriously injured in the incident, breathed her last during the course of treatment while Magar's lifeless body was recovered from the site.
A team led by police inspector Birendra Rayamajhi was mobilized to the incident site immediately after receiving the information.. There were 15 passengers in the bus.
Among the injured, 10 are undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital and others at Sahakari Hospital in Makwanpur, the police added.
Summitters' Summit at Thame on April 22
The Summitters’ Summit will be held at Thame of Solukhumbu on April 22.
The event being organized by an organization, Sathsathai, will be attended by mountain climbers, climate and tourism experts and three-tiers of government.
Chairperson of Sathsathai, Prajita Karki, informed that the organizations and government alike were encouraged to hold the event. The event focused on climate change and tourism is related to the Sagarmatha Sambaad, an international conference being held by the government.
The Sagarmatha Sambaad secretariat has allowed the conduct of the event with the coordination of provincial and local governments, according to her.
Noted climbers including Qatari crown princess Asma Al Thani, Kamarita Sherma, Mingma David Sherpa and Maya Gurung will attend the program.
Even those surviving the glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) of Thame will participate in the summit.
