PM Oli visits Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Museum

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is in Tianjin, China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, visited the Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Museum in Nankai District today. 

Zhou Enlai was a leader of the Chinese Revolution and a former Prime Minister of China. 

During the visit, Prime Minister was accompanied by First Lady Radhika Shakya, former Deputy Prime Minister and member of the House of Representatives Purna Bahadur Khadka, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Panta, and Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey.

Similarly, other delegation members former Minister and Prime Minister's economic and development advisor Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, former Minister and Member of Parliament Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, Nepal's Ambassador to China Dr Krishna Prasad Oli, and China's Ambassador to Nepal were among the participants. 

Prime Minister Oli is leading the Nepali delegation to China to attend the summit at the friendly invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

 

PM Oli visits rice planting area in Tianjin

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is in Tianjin, China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, today visited the Rice Core Planting Area in Huiguan Village.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli and his delegation members were informed about the production of JD 939 paddy seeds in the area and the pilot projects that have been initiated to connect agriculture, tourism and education.

After observing the Rice planting area, Prime Minister Oli also visited the Zhau Eenlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Museum located in 9 Shuishang Park West Road Nankai District.

The leader of the Chinese revolution, Zhau Eenlai, is a former Premier of the People's Republic of China.

During the visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by First Lady Radhika Shakya and other members of the Nepali delegation.

Prime Minister Oli arrived in China on Saturday, leading the Nepali delegation to the SCO summit, at the friendly invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

 

Gaura festival helps preserve indigenous culture: President Paudel

President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the Gaura festival has played an important role in strengthening geographical, religious and cultural faith and mutual harmony.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Gaura festival today, President Paudel has wished that the festival further contributes to the preservation and promotion of Nepal's unique culture and inspire all Nepalis to enhance mutual understanding, harmony, sustainable peace and fraternity.

He has also expressed his best wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers living at home and abroad on the occasion of the festival mainly in the western region of Nepal. 

Stating that such folk traditions and cultural festivals in our society enhance unity in diversity, social and cultural solidarity and tolerance, President Paudel has said, “I believe that such festivals have been strengthening national unity by connecting families and society, preserving culture, and contributing to spiritual faith and the happiness and peace of human life.”

In a similar message, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has said that the Gaura festival is an opportunity for social reunion.

Expressing his belief that Gaura festival will strengthen the relationship between family, relatives and community, he said that Gauri-Maheshwor  worshipped during this festival a unique symbol of religious faith, cultural heritage and social unity. 

 “This festival celebrated with the wishes of good fortune, purity, happiness, peace and prosperity is not only a cultural ritual but also an expression of fraternity, coexistence and deep love for the motherland, he said, "especially those living abroad returning to their places of origin to observe this festival is a strong proof of their loyalty and emotional connection to the soil.”

It also reminds us of the need to preserve our original cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations,” Vice President Yadav has said in his message.

 

Heavy rainfall likely in Karnali and Sudurpaschim

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces today.

Moderate rainfall is also likely at some places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and a few places in the hilly and Tarai areas of the remaining provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division. 

With an increase in flow of water vapor-rich air from the Arabian Sea, the weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the country today and tonight. 

Later tonight, there is a possibility of moderate rainfall at some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces and a few places in the remaining hilly and tarai areas. 

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces, adds the Division.
