Legendary manager Lucescu dies days after resigning
Legendary manager Mircea Lucescu has died at the age of 80, five days after stepping down as Romania's head coach, BBC reported.
Lucescu resigned on Thursday after falling ill before a training session.
He received treatment in hospital after reportedly, external suffering a heart attack on Friday morning.
"The Romanian Football Federation expresses its boundless regret following the death of the one who was, is and will remain an absolute legend: Mircea Lucescu," the country's federation said in a statement.

FIFA opens disciplinary probe against Spanish FA after Islamaphobic chants
World football’s governing body, FIFA, has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Spanish football federation over anti-Muslim chants heard at a recent match between Spain and Egypt, Al Jazeera reported.
A section of fans at the RCDE stadium in Barcelona had chanted, “Whoever doesn’t jump is a Muslim”, during the international friendly on March 31.
“FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings today against the Spanish FA for the incidents in the friendly against Egypt,” the governing body said in a statement on Tuesday.
