Napoli's perfect start continues with battling 3-2 win over Pisa
Napoli were made to work hard but they maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season with a 3-2 home win over Pisa on Monday, which took the holders clear atop the standings, Reuters reported.
Billy Gilmour netted his first goal at senior club level to give Napoli a first-half lead but M'Bala Nzola's penalty on the hour drew Pisa level.
Leonardo Spinazzola and Lorenzo Lucca's goals looked to have wrapped up the win before Lorran's late goal for the visitors made for a nervy ending, according to Reuters.
PSG handed first Ligue 1 loss this season as Marseille claim 1-0 home win
Ligue 1 champions Paris St Germain suffered a 1-0 defeat at Olympique de Marseille in Monday's rearranged 'Le Classique', with Nayef Aguerd’s early header proving decisive in his side's first home league win over their bitter rivals since 2011, Reuters reported.
After Sunday's weather-enforced postponement of the match amid heavy rain and storms, PSG fell to their first league defeat of the season after five matches, remaining on 12 points and yielding first place to AS Monaco on goals scored.
"We are not used to losing games," said PSG coach Luis Enrique, who was named coach of the season at the Ballon d'Or awards held at the same time in Paris, according to Reuters.
Mallorca hold 10-man Atletico to 1-1 draw
Atletico Madrid's struggles in La Liga persisted as they were held to a dramatic 1-1 draw by Mallorca on Sunday, with goalkeeper Leo Roman delivering an outstanding performance before Vedat Muriqi’s late header cancelled out Conor Gallagher's opener, Reuters reported.
The result left Diego Simeone's side languishing in 12th place with six points from five matches, while Mallorca are 19th with two points. Real Madrid lead the league with 15 points.
Roman was pivotal for Mallorca, frustrating Atletico throughout the match with a series of remarkable saves, according to Reuters.

Gabriel Martinelli's last-gasp equaliser gave Arsenal a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, cancelling out Erling Haaland's early goal to give the Gunners a point though they lost ground on early leaders Liverpool, Reuters reported.
City scored from a rapid counter in the ninth minute, Tijjani Reijnders breaking from deep with Haaland on his shoulder before he played the Norwegian striker in to finish coolly past David Raya.
Arsenal looked short on ideas before a double change at halftime gave them more impetus, substitute Eberechi Eze forcing a sharp save from Gianluigi Donnarumma as the hosts swarmed all over an uncharacteristically defensive City, according to Reuters.
