Bayern score in stoppage time to rescue 3-3 draw against strugglers Heidenheim

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich scored through Michael Olise with the last kick of the game to snatch a 3-3 draw against bottom club Heidenheim in the league on Saturday, after battling back from two goals down, Reuters reported. 

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany rotated his side heavily after Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Paris St Germain in their Champions League semi-final first leg and ahead of next week's return match in Munich.

Treble-chasing Bayern, who have already secured the league title, quickly found themselves two goals down with Budu Zivzivadze and Eren Dinkci finding far too much space to beat keeper Jonas Urbig.

Arsenal blow away Fulham to turn up heat on Man City, West Ham suffer blow

Arsenal threw down the gauntlet to Manchester City in the Premier League title race with a 3-0 home cruise against Fulham on Saturday (2 May) putting them six points clear ​at the top, Reuters reported. 

Viktor Gyokeres scored twice in the first half at The Emirates to put his side in control, with Bukayo Saka also on target as Arsenal ramped up the pressure on City.

It was the perfect day for Arsenal who will now be firmly back in control of their destiny if City fail to win the first of their two games in hand away at Everton on Monday (4 May).

West Ham United's survival hopes suffered a blow when they went down 3-0 at Brentford for whom the win raised the possibility ​of playing European football for the first time, according to Reuters. 

 

Barcelona close on LaLiga title with late win at Osasuna

Barcelona moved to the brink of retaining the LaLiga title after Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres struck late in a 2-1 victory at Osasuna on Saturday, Reuters reported. 

With four games remaining, Barca top the table on 88 points, 14 clear of second-placed Real Madrid, who have a game in hand and visit Espanyol on Sunday. Should Madrid fail to win, Barcelona will be confirmed champions for the second successive season.

Barca broke through in the 81st minute when Marcus Rashford crossed from the right and Lewandowski rose to head in. Five minutes later Fermin Lopez slipped Torres clear and he finished low past Sergio Herrera.

Marta Kostyuk defeats Andreeva in Madrid to claim biggest title of career

Marta Kostyuk took an enormous step towards fulfilling her potential as the Ukrainian closed out an incredible week by winning the biggest title of her career at the Madrid Open, defeating Mirra Andreeva, of Russia, 6-3, 7-5, The Guardian reported. 

Although Kostyuk’s run through a WTA 1000 draw was unexpected, this did not come out of nowhere. Kostyuk won her second career WTA event in Rouen just before Madrid and has now put together an 11-match winning streak to rise to a career-high world ranking of 15.

This result has been a long time coming. Now 23, she broke through as a 15-year-old, reaching the third round of the Australian Open as a qualifier. She is one of the best athletes on the tour, blessed with a varied and well-rounded game.
